Q: How did you end up as a leader in the FinTech Industry?
A: FinTech has been an evolving industry over the last 10 years or so, with a lot of regulation and legislative actions to still be determined. As an attorney with a career devoted to creditor rights, being part of this groundbreaking time in this industry was very attractive to me and I was thrilled when asked to join Credibly to provide my vision and expertise with regard to not only compliance but also operations for the back end of the Portfolio.
Q: What is an accomplishment that you are proud of?
A: Being part of our dynamic team that collaborated in overhauling underwriting and recovery workflows to proactively adjust for the COVID-19 impacts to our customer’s business. We were able to continue funding during the pandemic as well as keep our securitization intact.
Q: What advice would you give to young women today looking to start a career in the industry?
A: Stay curious and open-minded. Ask a lot of questions. There are many opportunities available in the FinTech space that you may not be aware of.
Q: What are you most excited about with new advances in technology today?
A: How quickly data can be obtained from multiple sources and then filtered and used for our purposes.
Q: As a female leader, how do you start your day? What are your tips for productivity in the midst of a busy schedule?
A: I create a list of the tasks that need to get done with a level of priority assigned to each. I will stay focused on the most important goals but allow myself the opportunity to address some of the more easily handled matters just to have a sense of completion.
Q: What are some of your favorite ways to spend your time when you aren’t working? Any tips for relaxation and destressing?
A: I am a yoga enthusiast in addition to being an endurance athlete. I find that physical activity helps to clear my mind. At times when I am running or cycling, I do take the opportunity to have dialogues with myself to help sort out some issues that I am facing in the workday. Take the time to honor yourself and clear your mind be it a walk, read a book, or whatever you enjoy to do.
Q: Is there one piece of technology that you cannot live without?
A: My Garmin Fenix 5S Plus watch. If the house is burning down this is the one item I am going to save! Although it is always on my wrist so that will be easy.
